LA PORTE CITY - Marguerite E. Broessel, 95, of La Porte City, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 16, at the La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 5, 1911, in Waterloo, daughter of John and Emma Lines Uker. She married Leslie Broessel on June 18, 1932, in Waterloo. He died May 20, 1997.

Survived by two daughters, Diane Wagner (special friend Dean McKinney) of Bella Vista, Ark., and Debra (Larry) Weber of La Porte City; three grandchildren, Susan Teel and David (Denise) Wagner, both of Cedar Falls, and Melanie (Andy) Rickert of Hudson; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Verne W. Uker.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Linden United Methodist Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
