WATERLOO - Eldon L. Dykes, 77, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

He was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Allerton, son of Sebert and Rosa Jennings Dykes. He married Kathryn L. Wahner on June 26, 1959, in Cedar Falls, and they later divorced.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed by John Deere, retiring in 1995.

Survived by two daughters, Kathy Ann (Bob) Rowray of Delhi and Kiona (Darren) Pommer of Cedar Falls; two sons, Christopher of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Robert Dykes of Joliet, Ill.; three grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Minikus, Brandi Rowray, and Kaylee Mettlin; a great-grandchild, Zoey Bresson; a brother, Jerry (Donna) of Waterloo; and two sisters, Gladys Pichelmann and Helen Owens, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rosalee Schwartz.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Military honors by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post No. 49. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before services wednesday at the funeral home.
