Marilee Nadine Blume Reiher, 85, of Allison, died at home Sunday, May 25, 2014,from congestive heart failure.

She was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Waterloo, daughter of Charles E. and Edith Adams Blume. She married Vern H. Reiher on Oct. 1, 1950, in Sumner.

Marilee graduated from Sumner High School, attended Iowa State Teachers College and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She was a kindergarten and first grade teacher, teaching in Parkersburg from 1948 to 1951 and Allison-Bristow from 1968 to 1992. She was a member of United Church of Christ, Allison.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Mari (Kent) Cramer of Hampton; three sons, Mark (Brenda) of New Hartford, Todd (Cheryl) of Shell Rock and John (Brenda) of Grimes; 12 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlys (J.B.) McAninch of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Douglas C. Blume; a sister, Darlene Simon; and great-grandson.

Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. Friday at Allison Congregational Church, with burial in Allison Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Allison.
