EVANSDALE - Jerry D. Back, 53, of Evansdale, died at home Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 8, 1951, in Waterloo, son of Robert Owen and Laurel J. Stearns Back. He married Mary See on April 9, 1971, in Lancaster, Mo.

Mr. Back retired from John Deere and Co.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry D. Jr. and Jason (Jessica), both of Evansdale; two grandchildren, Jocelyn and Joy Back, both of Winchester, Tenn.; his father and stepmother, Robert and Sally Back of Lansing; his mother, Laurel of Alamo, Texas; two brothers, Michael Owen (Betty) of Dunkerton and Pat of Waterloo; and four sisters, Linda (Emmett) Hartsfield of Burlison, Tenn., Lorna (Mark) Davis of Evansdale, Meliss (Jeff) Bruch of Sumner and Michelle (Jared) Kelber of Liscomb.

Preceded in death by a brother, Bill.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
