HUDSON - Fred W. "Bud" Keller, 80, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born May 10, 1925, in rural Kensett, son of Fred William and Hattie Mae Thompson Keller. On June 21, 1944, he married Eloise Jean Ohrt in Waterloo.

Mr. Keller graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1944 and had farmed for 59 years. He had been employed by John Deere Experimental Farm from 1964 to 1966, retiring from active farming in 1987.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Dan (Ann) of Rosebud, Ark., Bruce (Susan) of Morrison, R. Bink (Karen) of Forest City and William "Bill" (Yvonne) of Dike; a daughter, Gail Clapp of Urbandale; 15 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joe Clapp; an infant brother, Roy; five half brothers, Wesley, Bert, Ray, Arthur and Albert Saltou; and two half sisters, Ethel and Vera Saltou.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Union Congregational United Church of Christ, Reinbeck, with burial in Reinbeck City Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at French Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, with family present from 5 to 8 p.m.
