CEDAR FALLS - Gordon E. Danielson, 94, of the Western Home Martin Center, formerly of Mallard Point and Evansdale, died at the center Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, of natural causes.

He was born July 10, 1911, in Fort Dodge, son of Elmer T. and Margaret E. Erickson Danielson. He married Margaret E. Tansey on Nov. 21, 1938, in Lancaster, Mo. She died May 3, 2000.

Mr. Danielson was employed as a machine operator at John Deere for 28 years, retiring in 1974. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Good Sams Camping Club, UAW Local 838 and Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138.

Survivors include a sister, Vivian Marie Sparrowgrove of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Michelle (Jim) Galanits of Waterloo and Jamie (Jill) Iverson of Cedar Falls; a great-granddaughter; two brothers-in-law, David (Karen) Tansey of Waterloo and Gail (Virginia) Tansey of Cedar Falls; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Smock of Elk Run Heights.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy F. Iverson; and a brother, LeRoy.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
