WATERLOO - Paula L. Vogel, 88, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born March 22, 1917, in Bremer County, daughter of William and Anna Poock Meier. She married Walter M.A. Vogel Dec. 4, 1938, in Black Hawk County, and they later divorced.
Ms. Vogel attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Klinger. She worked as a nurses assistant at Allen Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1983.
Survivors include a son, John W. (Susan) of Waterloo; two daughters, Doris (Jerry) Eckerman of Overland Park, Kan., and Nancy Davis of Hemet, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Meier; and three sisters, Viola Bruns, Velma Meyer and Edna Leonhart.
Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in the Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services at the church. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the family or Grace Lutheran Church.
