John Charles McKenna, 84, of Hudson, died Sunday, April 10, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, a heart attack.

He was born April 23, 1920, in rural Black Hawk County, son of Charles and Clara Hayes McKenna. He married Martha Davis Wrage on June 24, 1947, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Blessing.

Mr. McKenna graduated from St. Marys of Mount Carmel, Eagle Center. He was a farmer his entire life and was past president of the Buckingham Co-op.

Survivors include: his wife; three daughters, Lovelle (James) Pedersen of Hudson, Elaine (Gale) Boylan of Jacksonville, Fla., and Alice (Richard) Holloway of Blanchard, Okla.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Patricia) McKenna of La Porte City; three sisters, Marie McKenna of Buckingham, Florence Yuska of Waterloo and Rita (Don) Eckardt of Houston, Texas; a brother-in-law, Glenn Carlson of Des Moines; and a sister-in-law, Maxine McKenna of Dysart.

Preceded in death by: an infant son, Duane; a brother, Harold; and three sisters, Irene Brandt, Maxine Nichols and Genevieve Carlson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Marys of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Eagle Center, with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Blessing. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
