GILBERTVILLE - Darlene R. Reuter, 85, of Jesup, formerly of Gilbertville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Black Hawk County, daughter of Harry J. Roth and Martha Catherine Holback Roth. On Oct. 26, 1948, she married Leo Joseph Reuter, Gilbertville. Her husband preceded her in death in 2001.

She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville.

Survived by five daughters, Joyce (Clifford) Schimmels of Denver, Judy Barkley (Bill Beveridge) of Morrison, Colo., Mary (Jack) Collins of St. Louis Park, Minn., Lou Ann (Kurt) Frush and Joan (Bob) Venem, both of Jesup; five sons, Leon (Jeanne) of Gilbert, Ariz., John (Linda), Larry (Debbie) and Richard (Patricia), all of Jesup, and Roger (Angie) of Tucson, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Marian) Roth and Daniel (Darlene) Roth, both of Jesup, and Michael (Shirley) Roth of Fort Meyers, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret Falk of La Porte City and Annabelle (John) Demuth of Independence.

Preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas in infancy; a daughter, Rose Mary Reuter in infancy; and two grandchildren.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Order of Foresters rosary and 6 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, the Bosco System in Gilbertville and Cedar Valley Hospice.
