CEDAR FALLS - Neil W. Sauer, 81, of Cedar Falls, died at home Thursday, May 8, 2014.

He was born June 11, 1932, in Troy Mills, son of William and Emir Berry Sauer. He married Dorothy Christensen on June 7, 1952, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Waterloo.

He was employed as a foreman at Rath Packing and later in maintenance at Crossroads Shopping Center.

Survived by his wife; four daughters, Patricia (Merv) Howard and Jacque (Kevin) Karsten, both of Waterloo, Denise (Steve) Pfaff of Indianola and Annette (Paul) Reker of New Ulm, Minn.; a son, Jeff (Pam) of Waterloo; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Marilyn Ormond and Rose Moberly, both of Waterloo, and Deb Adams of Chippewa Falls, Wis.

Preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Sauer; and a sister, Karen Peverill.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service and also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
