WATERLOO - Doris Louise Schmidt, 62, of Waterloo, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Waterloo, daughter of Clarence and Clara Braun Guhlow. She married George Schmidt on Aug. 27, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Mrs. Schmidt was a graduate of Waterloo East High School and had been employed as a secretary for Waterloo Community Schools for 31 years, retiring in 2005.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Michelle (Gary) Gilbert of Waterloo and Mary Kathryn (Des) Hamilton of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a grandson; and two sisters, Mary Ann Blanchard and Lois Beattie.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.
