WATERLOO - Delmar E. Snoddy, 84, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Allen Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1922, son of John O. and Lucinda Harper Snoddy. He married Esterlene Ayers on Oct. 12, 1963. She died March 12, 2002.

Mr. Snoddy was a machinist with Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. for 19 years, retiring in 1987. He served in the European theater during World War II with the U.S. Army. He had a great passion for his country and shared many stories about his time of service.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Judith (Robert) Wise of Cedar Falls and Patricia Crowe of Denver, Colo.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, with military rites by American Legion Post 191 of Webster City. Public visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway.
