CEDAR FALLS - Ronald E. Gerholdt, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Raymond, son of Glen and Alene Nichol Gerholdt. He married Norma Jean Crow on Sept. 28, 1952, in Waterloo. She died June 5, 2012.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School and attended Tech School in the Navy. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated Pine Room Tap in Evansdale for 20 years, was employed with John Deere and later with the Phoenix School District in Arizona.

Survived by two daughters, Linda (Bob) Skeers of Hiawatha and Cindy (Roger) Hahn of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alvin (Tanya) of Mesa, Ariz.

Preceded in death by a brother, Lester.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post No. 49.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice.
