Don Wilson Nelson Jr., 49, of Sheffield, died at home Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, of cancer.

He was born Feb. 6, 1965, to Don Sr. and Clarice Nelson.

Don was employed at Woodharbor Cabinetry for 16 years.

Survived by his wife, Julie; three sons, Jesse "Jess" Bias of Tempe, Ariz., Luke "Sonny" (Brandy) Linsey of Waterloo and Cody "Codester" Marr of San Diego; two daughters, Sarah "Pumpkin" (Travis) Bloom of Doughtery and Amanda "Sunshine" (John) Niznik of Redlands, Calif.; six grandchildren, Abraham, Parker, Adriana, Taylor, Letty and Nicolai; his father of Fertile; two brothers, Steve (Cindy) Nelson of Waterloo and Mark Leadley of Cedar Falls; his stepfather, Frank Leadley of Evansdale; five stepsiblings; his in-laws, Ma and Pa Ringham and the entire Nelson and Ringham families.

Preceded in death by his mother, Clarice Leadley; and a sister, Cindy Lou Nelson.

Services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Retz Funeral Home, Sheffield, where visitation begins at 4 p.m. A second service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, where burial will be held.

Don was a man who loved life to its fullest and took pride in all that he was.

Casual attire is mandatory for the service; Harley Davidson or concert shirts would be preferred by the family as this is a celebration of Don’s life and not his passing.
