WATERLOO - Richard D. "Dick" Boldt, 67, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Black Hawk County, son of Edward and Esther Ohrt Boldt. He married Marlene Peverill on Feb. 18, 1958, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville,
Mr. Boldt graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1957. He was owner/operator of Motor Clinic in Waterloo, and Ace Auto Supply in Evansdale, retiring in 2005. He also was president and charter member of East Black Hawk County Lions Club and was a Poyner Township Trustee.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kevin of Gilbertville and Scott (Shelley) of Waterloo; three daughters, Stormy (Mike) Meiser and Bethann Bibler, both of Waterloo, and Laura (Marvin) Steils of Evansdale; 11 grandchildren, Melissa (Brendon) Hagarty, Jesse Boldt and Austin Boldt, all of Gilbertville, David Meiser, Chad Bibler, Molly Bibler, Nicole Boldt and Madison Boldt, all of Waterloo, Trevor (Alison) Bibler of Nashville, Tenn., Alec Steils and Abby Steils, both of Evansdale; two brothers, LeRoy (Deb) of Salem, Ore., and Edward Jr. of San Francisco; and two sisters, Mary Bilsland of Vinton and Kay Cronin of Brainerd, Minn.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Poyner Cemetery, near Gilbertville. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today and an hour before services Thursday at the chapel.
