LaPorte City, Iowa - Ruth Shoger, 83, of 508 Commercial St., Apt. C., died Thursday, January 6, 1994, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota, after a brief illness.
She was born August 11, 1910 in Nora Springs, daughter of Floyd and Ella Tuttle Potter. She married James O. Shoger on December 24, 1928, in Nora Springs; he died June 1986.
Survived by: a son, M. James Shoger of South Charleston, West Virginia; a daughter, Mary Davison of LaPorte City; 20 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Potter of Paris, Illinois.
Preceded in death by: a son, Lynn; a daughter, Marlys Alden; three brothers, Newt, Ralph and Allen Potter; and a sister, Edith Jones.
Services: 10 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with 2:30 p.m. graveside services at Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Huisman Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
Memorials: directed to La Porte City Community Senior Center.
