WATERLOO - Elizabeth D. Erpelding, 85, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 24, 1921, near Necedah, Wis., daughter of Fred and Lizzie Ganther Saunders. In 1946 she married Charles Erpelding. He died in 1974.

Mrs. Erpelding received her education in rural schools near where she was born and later graduated from Necedah High School. She then moved to the Waterloo area where she worked at Rath Packing Co. for a time and was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Sherry) of Baxter and Brian of Allison; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, George Saunders of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and two sisters, Hazel Erdmann of Evansdale and Helen Miller of Naples, Fla.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Wayne.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Memorial fund is being established.
