LA PORTE CITY - Eleanor Blanche Jesse, 96, of La Porte City, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born April 24, 1917, in rural Black Hawk County, daughter of Walter H. and Rhoda S. Brandt Fehl. She married Raymond H. Jesse on March 29, 1940, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jubilee; he preceded her in death in 2001.

Survived by two sons, Gerald Brunko of Waterloo and Dennis Jesse of New Berlin, Wis.; a daughter, Ramona Jesse of Traverse City, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Lorraine Franks of Mason City and Lois Case of Muskego, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a daughter, Lynda Gradl; three brothers, Lee, Merlin and Richard Fehl; and two sisters, Edith Vorberg and Jean Melka.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at American Lutheran Church, La Porte City, with inurnment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Jubilee.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the American Lutheran Church.
