RAYMOND - Charles F. Di Domenico, 69, of Raymond, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines.

He was born April 29, 1945, in Worcester, Mass., son of Charles P. and Rita Ahasey Di Domenico. He married Kathryn K. Chapin Spragg on Dec. 16, 2006, in Citrus Springs, Fla.

He graduated from Oxford, Mass., High School and attended the University of Maryland. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a law enforcement detective in Washington, D.C., for 20 years, retiring in 1990.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Furey (Tabatha) of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Christopher (Crystal) of Mechanicsville, Md.; three grandchildren, Isaac, Cora and Braddock Di Domenico; and a sister, Susie Shilinski of Massachusetts.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 3 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with inurnment at 1 p.m. Saturday in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.
