CEDAR FALLS - Norma F. Priest, 96, of Cedar Falls died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Western Home Communities.

She was born Dec. 11, 1909, in Hawkeye, daughter of Robert and Purl Henderson Smith. She married Leo Edward Priest on April 27, 1932, in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1977.

She was a 1927 graduate of West Union High School and graduated from Presbyterian Hospital Nursing School in Waterloo. She worked for a short time at the hospital before raising her family.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls and the Cedar Falls Woman's Club.

Survived by a son, Col. Robert D. (Sharon) of Fredericksburg, Va.; a daughter, Barbara (Dr. Donald) Olsen of Rochester, Minn.; six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle Davis) Priest, Marti Linn (Patrick J.) Wager, Gerri Priest (C. Carson) Duke, Kurt Karl (Joan Conroy) Olsen, Lynn (Kurt) Ault and Bradley Olsen; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, May Dawn Dean of Fayette.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Keith and Robert Smith; and two sisters, Zoe Smith and Madge Shaffer.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Western Home Communities Chapel, Cedar Falls, with burial in the Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Public visitation for an hour before services Wednesday at the chapel. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
