WATERLOO - Betty Lou Baldwin, 86, of Martin Center Western Home Communities, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls of natural causes.

She was born June 16, 1927, in Allison, daughter of Arthur and Alice Jennings Bell. She married Roland Baldwin on March 21, 1948, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2011.

Betty worked at the Cedar Falls Record in the city news department, and later at Mid Continent Petroleum.

Survived by three sons, Dennis (Wendy) of Waterloo, Mark of Brainerd, Minn., and Dean (Linda) of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, John Bell; and a sister, Dorothy Van Dyke.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave., with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, and also for an hour before services Thursday.
