CEDAR FALLS - Joseph E. “Joe” Cox, 70, of Cedar Falls, died at home Thursday, April 24, 2014.

He was born Oct. 31, 1943, in Waterloo, son of John and Wilma Saltzman Cox. He married Janice Sivola on Dec. 19, 1974, in Waterloo.

He was employed with John Deere Foundry, retiring in 1997.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Jeff (Tiffany) of Waterloo and Joel (Sarah) of Evansdale; a daughter, Patty (Josh) Marx of Dike; a stepdaughter, Doreen Maser of Rock Hill, S.C.; two stepsons, Blaine (Tiffany) Luck of Hudson and Duane Luck of Evansdale; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Reva) of Traer; and a sister, Sharon (Daryl) Potter of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jonathan.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service with family receiving friends for one hour before services. A reception will be held following the service at the UAW Local 838 Hall, 2615 Washington St., Waterloo, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
