LA PORTE CITY - Myrtle E. Ribble, 80, of La Porte City, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital.

She was born April 23, 1934, in Dubuque, daughter of Byron L. and Myrtle Elizabeth Wilkinson Potter. She married Robert L. Ribble in 1957; they were later divorced.

She managed Midwest Daycare in Waterloo for more than 10 years and then worked as director of St. Mary’s Villa, retiring in 2002.

Survived by four sons, Tom (Trina) of Allison, Bill (Penny) of La Porte City, Ed (Robin) of Evansdale and Jonathan (Heather) of Norwalk; four daughters, Michelle (Doug) Clark of Waterloo, Kathleen (Steve) Teisinger of Denver, Maria (Tim) Sherman of Cedar Rapids and Beth (Dwight) Streicher of Oelwein; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Potter of Dubuque.

Preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Frank Hall; two sons, James and Paul; a grandson, Andrew Jeremy Clark; two brothers, Byron “Bud” and Leslie “Dusty” Potter; and two sisters, Shirley Potter and Adele Gilligan.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Assembly of God in Elk Run Heights, 5112 Lafayette Road, with a 2 p.m. burial in West View Cemetery, La Porte City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at La Porte City Funeral Home and also for an hour before services Friday at the church.
