WILLIAM KNIPP IS DEAD AT GILBERTVILLE

Gilbertville, Iowa, Feb. 17.- Funeral services for William Knipp, 86, resident of Black Hawk county since 1882. who died at 3 p.m. Thursday at his home near here, will be at 10 a. m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic church. Rev. Fa. John Nemmers. pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born in Germany, on July 26. 1841. In February. 1868, he married Miss Mary Schmitz in Germany, They came to the United States and Iowa in 1882 and had resided in Black Hawk county since that time. He had resided on the farm on which he made his home with his son, Peter W. Knipp, since 1901.

Surviving besides the widow, who is 84 years old. and the son, Peter, are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
