BUCKINGHAM - Joel Scott Meek, 43, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 15, 1970, in Waterloo, son of Joel and Janet Hagge Meek.

Survived by his mother, Janet, of Buckingham; a sister, Diana (Dennis) Bramow of Vinton; a brother, Larry of Buckingham; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Ron.

Graveside services will be held at a later date. His body has been donated to the University of Iowa for research.

Memorials may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDFR.org) or the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
