Baby Drowned

An accident, which bereft the home of Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Knipp by taking their baby son, Marvin, occurred Friday morning when the little fellow was drowned. In company with his little sister and brother, Marvin, who was eighteen months old, was in the yard at his home. He wandered over to the L. N. Wright premises nearby and fell into the fish pond, losing his life before he was discovered. Circumstances indicate that he fell into the pond head first and was too small to help himself. When his mother discovered his absence she searched for him, the neighbors joining in the hunt. Mrs. Wright thought she saw something in the pool and taking a rake, pulled out the still form of the baby, An effort was made to resuscitate him but failed.

Surviving with the parents are one sister, Luella, four, and one brother, Donald, three years old.

Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in Sacred Heart Church and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. Francis Habig. Interment was made in the cemetery at Gilbertville.
