KEMP, AUSTIN, SCHOLES

Mrs. Ella O. Kemp, of Waterloo, died at Independence at 4:15 o'clock Friday afternoon, where she had been undergoing treatment at the hospital. Mrs. Kemp had been ailing for several years and twelve months ago her condition became such that she was placed in the hospital. J. M. Hlleman went to Independence Saturday afternoon to accompany the remains here.

Deceased was formerly Miss Ella Austin, born in Portage, Ohio, June 27, 1852. She was twice married, the first time to John W. Scholes of this city and the second time to William Kemp. One child, Del F. Scholes, was born of the first union, and he now makes his home In this city, but at present is participating in the army maneuvers at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Besides the son, deceased is survived by a brother and a sister F. Austin, Waterloo; and Mrs. Robert Bryant, Jefferson. The mother, Mrs. Emallne C. Austin, is also living in this city. Deceased had been a resident of Waterloo about seven years.

The remains will be taken to Hileman & Gindt's undertaking rooms where they will be held until Tuesday morning at 7:00 o'clock when a brief prayer service will be held and the body taken to Mt. Auburn, where services will be held in the Christian church and Interment made in the cemetery there.
