WATERLOO - Phebe E. Bishop, 92, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 18, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Vinton, daughter of Charles E. and Besse P. McKee Smith. She married LeRoy I. Clemens on Jan. 10, 1944, in Bossier City, La., and they later divorced. She then married Harold R. Bishop on Sept. 17, 1983, in Waterloo; he died Feb. 12, 1984.

Phebe graduated from Vinton High School and also attended Gates Business College, Waterloo. She worked at the Black Hawk County Treasurer's Office for many years until her retirement.

Survived by two daughters, Claudette Ferrie and Paulette (Geary) Titus, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Tony Titus, Terry Titus, Noel Showers, Tami Jasper and Tesi Snyder; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Charles (Kathy) Smith of Quasqueton; and a sister-in-law, Diane Smith of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Tim Titus; two sons-in-law, Gary Ferrie and Earl Showers; two brothers, Kenneth and Ernest Smith; two sisters, Doris Rouse and Hester Smith; and her former husband, LeRoy Clemens.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
