WATERLOO - Stephen Paul Schwake, 60, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Waterloo, son of Paul and Annette Zimpher Schwake. He married Donna Morse on June 25, 1983, in Waterloo.

Stephen graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1972. He was president and owner/operator with his brother of A&P Food Equipment, formerly Hobart Sales & Service. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow and National Izaak Walton League.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Stephen II, Paul and Michael, all of Waterloo; five daughters, Melissa (Mike) Schwake and Elizabeth (Troy) Morse, both of Waterloo, and Alexis, Ariel and Tyler Ames; three brothers, Jeff (Mary) of Waterloo, David (Eileen) of Bremerton, Wash., and Mark (Sue) of Marion; a sister, Merna Padilla-King of Bedford; two aunts, Miriam Butterfield of Osceola and JoAnn Bantz of Fairbank; and an uncle, Carl (Doralee) Schwake of Oelwein.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of Mount Carmel, Eagle Center, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 7 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
