WATERLOO -Rose M. McElree, 94, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Northcrest Specialty Care.

She was born March 1, 1920, in Ionia, daughter of William and Bertha Lipp Venz. She married Leroy McElree on June 8, 1952, in Waterloo; he died Aug. 14, 1974.

Rose taught rural schools in Chickasaw County and later was employed with F.W. Woolworth and W.T. Grant Co.

Survived by a nephew, Larry (Sandy) Earle of Marion; a niece, Betty Lou Heath of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and special friends, Evelyn and Bill Honn and Ron and Ruth Ann Schneck, all of Waterloo.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette.
