WATERLOO - Nona Harvester, 101, of Waterloo, formerly of Hudson, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Lakeview Landing of Friendship Village.

She was born July 21, 1912, in La Porte City, daughter of Clyde and Anna Fell Anton. She married Robert "Bob" Harvester on Feb. 1, 1946, in Corona, Calif.; he died March 1, 1983.

Nona graduated from La Porte City High School, and from Iowa Methodist Hospital Nursing School in 1934. She did private duty nursing as well as being an industrial nurse at John Deere Tractor Works. She and her husband owned and operated Harvester Landscape Service, retiring in 1962. She also served in the U.S. Navy at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Corona, and was a member of Hudson American Legion and AMVETS Post 19.

Survived by a son, Tom (Diane) of Eureka, Mont.; a sister, Betty Hummel of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded by two brothers, Myron Anton, and Mark Anton in infancy.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Friendship Village Chapel, preceded by burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery with flag presentation. The family will greet friends following memorial services. Arrangements by Locke Funeral Home.
