Harry E. Niedert, 91, of 302 B Ave., Hiawatha, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. Daniel Krueger. Friends may visit after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Services will also be held in Waterloo at Garden View Chapel at 1 p.m. Monday. Burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.

Harry is survived by his three daughters, Sharon (Jim) Tullis, Audrey (Leo) Matties, and Judy (Richard) Burrell; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sole surviving sister, Leona Bentley of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte of 65 years.

Harry was born January 20, 1916 in Waterloo to Henry and Emma Kluth Niedert. He married Charlotte E. Smith on April 15, 1939. He served in the United States Army during WW II. Harry was a truck driver and warehouse employee for Nash Finch for 37 years. He was member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha.

Harry enjoyed woodworking, yard work and singing in church. He was a special husband and father, who will remain in his families' hearts forever.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
