WATERLOO - Ruth Arlene "Ruthie" Milks, 78, of Waterloo, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born April 17, 1928, in Chickasaw County, daughter of John W. and Sophie A. Mellman Dietz. She married Bennie F. Milks Nov. 5, 1949, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Milks was employed in the sliced meat department at Rath Packing Company for 16 years, retiring in 1963.

Survived by her husband; a son, Terry L. (Audrey) of Robins; a daughter, Kayleen F. (Mark) Rhinehart of Brooklyn; and seven grandchildren.

Preceded in death by four brothers, Roger, Austin, Loren and Marshall Dietz; and a sister in infancy.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
