CORALVILLE - Millicent "Millie" I. Jepson, 80, of 1745 5th Street, Coralville, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at her home. Millie was diagnosed with cancer in May. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, 310 N. Johnson Street, Iowa City, with Pastor Harris Hostager officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Grandchildren's Education Fund, Hills Bank, Coralville.

Millie was born on October 19, 1926, in Waterloo, to Carl and Anna Mixdorf Baker. She married Gene Jepson on September 5, 1954, in Waterloo. Millie worked at the VA Medical Center as a secretary for 25 years before retiring in 1989. She then started working at West Music from 1989-1999 and then at Hills Bank from 2000-2005.

Millie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge and an avid Hawkeye fan known as "Grandma Hawk" by fans, players and coaches alike.

Millie is survived by her two children, Steven Jepson (Loretta) of Mt. Holly, NC, and Jenny Nowell (J.R.) of McKinney, TX; two grandchildren, Katherine Jepson and Drake Nowell; five siblings, Francis Baker (Erica), Dr. John Baker (Carol), Frederick Baker, Barbara Kuper (Jack) and Arthur Baker (Sylvia).

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Paul Jepson; a sister, Corrinne Baker; and her husband, Gene.
