CEDAR FALLS - Carol Brown, 67, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, following a short illness.

She was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Marshalltown, daughter of Lyle and Bernice Lenhart Pagel. On June 4, 1957, she married Harold Hal Brown at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama.

Mrs. Brown graduated from high school in Tama in 1956. She and her husband resided in several towns, including Oskaloosa, Marshalltown and Fredericksburg before moving to Cedar Falls. While in Cedar Falls, she worked for Cedar Falls Trust and Savings, Cedar Falls Schools, Jacobs Floral, Enzlers, Twin Oaks and most recently held a booth at the Calico Hen House. She and her husband also operated their own business, Carlada, which sold rustic woodwork, silk flower arrangements and did creative decorating services. In her spare time she was active in church where she had taught Sunday School and volunteered in many other areas. She also was active with the Red Hat Society. She greatly enjoyed music and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Lisa (Robert) Rivera of Cedar Rapids and Debbie (Randy) Rogers of Stillwater, Minn.; four grandchildren, Robbie and Ashlie Rivera and Tyler and Derek Rogers; a great-grandchild, Jaylia Elena Rivera; her parents of Tama; a brother, Larry (Patty) Pagel of Kearney, Mo.; and a sister, Jeani (Kurt) Sloan of Carlisle.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel, Cedar Falls, with burial later in Oak Hill Cemetery, Tama; Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories

A memorial fund is being established.
