WATERLOO - Burt Bjorheim, 81, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 4, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital.

He was born Dec. 3, 1932, in Cedar Falls, son of Nick and Julia Bensen Bjorheim. He married Carline Stevens on Sept. 29, 1957, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Burt was employed in the hog cut department at Rath Packing Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Eric of Waterloo and Michael (Dianna) of Des Moines; a stepgranddaughter, Erin Thomas; and a sister, Bertha Eastman of Des Moines

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bennie and Knute (Donna); four sisters, Darlene, Lillian, Helen (Earle) Patten and Julia Bjorheim; and a brother-n-law, Kenneth Eastman

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
