IRVIN, NEEB, ODONNELL, CONNOLLY

Floyd E. Irvin, 55, of 927 W. 5th St. died at 1:45 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Hospital of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, with which he had been afflicted for the past several years.

He was born on Jan. 24, 1910, the son of William and Kathryn Neeb Irvin at Riceville. He attended schools in Riceville and Alexandria, Minn. He married Edna O'Donnell on April 28, 1941 at Elma.

Mr. Irvin was a veteran of the Air Force of World War II. For many years he had been a salesman for Waterloo Ventilated Awning Co. and the Electrolux Corp. until his illness caused retirement two years ago.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, his mother, Mrs. Kathryn Irvin of 1928 W. 6th St., his sisters, Mrs. John Connolly also of 1928 W. 6th St.; one brother, William of Riceville.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1945 and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may call at the Oppold Funeral Home.
