JESUP - Frederick G. Steinbron Sr., 94, of Jesup, died at home Thursday, March 27, 2014.

He was born Aug. 9, 1919, in Black Hawk County, son of George John and Eleanor Henderson Steinbron. On April 11, 1953, he married Margie Marie Temeyer in Jesup. She preceded him in death in 2010.

He was raised near Mallard, where he graduated from high school. Mr. Steinbron was a farmer and also worked 32 years at John Deere in Waterloo. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Independence.

Survived by four sons, Frederick Jr., George (Dolly), Earl (Tina) and Joe (Kris), all of Jesup; three daughters, Lena (Ray) Weber of Jesup, Nancy (Allen) Dlouhy of Edgewood and Eleanor Steinbron of Olathe, Kan.; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin (Helen) of Minneapolis; three sisters, Helen Welch of Fayette, Miriam Rodby of Waterloo and Ruth (Harold) Melles of Downers Grove, Ill.

Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harold and Maurice.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Jesup Bible Fellowship, with burial in Cedar Crest Cemetery, both in Jesup. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
