CEDAR FALLS - Wayne L. Holmes, 69, of Bentonville, Ark., formerly of 4401 Zicon Lane, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1991, at Bates Memorial Hospital, Bentonville, of complications from surgery.

He was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Cedar Falls, son of H. Roy and Amy J. Hanna Holmes. He married Dorothy Buhl in 1944, and there were later divorced. He married Ruth A. Duball on Sept. 4, 1948, in Washington. She died Oct. 16, 1986. He then married Jaunita Newgent in 1988 in Bentonville.

Mr. Holmes retired from Cedar Falls Utilities in 1983 after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis J. of Cedar Falls and Michael W. of Bella Vista, Ark; five daughters: Jackie Frost of Raymond, Dianne R. Kelling, Linda S. Kinder, Bonnie Bartlett and Teresa Grapp, all of Cedar falls; a stepdaughter, Janet Patton of Centerton, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandson; three brothers: R. Dale and Glenn, both of Cedar Falls, and Donald of Vinton; and a stepsister, Doris Palmer of Kimballton.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. Visitation also will be from 9 a.m. until services Monday.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association of the American Lung Association.
