Pauline L. Johnson Klapp entered into glory on Jan. 5, 2005, in Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 24, 1910, in Canton, Ill., to George E. and Charlotte "Lottie" Baxter Johnson. Pauline moved to Galesburg, Ill., with her family at an early age.

She married Earl Klapp Dec. 15, 1928, at Oneida, Ill. They lived in various places before settling in Waterloo in 1952. Earl died May 6, 1995.

Pauline enjoyed caring for her family. She also enjoyed her church and was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Waterloo.

The couple raised and nurtured 10 children. They also raised and nurtured a grandchild and a niece.

Pauline is survived by and will be missed by her children: Earl Edward Klapp (Marilyn), Donna Cleo Klapp King (Tom), William Stacey Klapp (Carol), Bruce Eldon Klapp (Rebecca), Sandra Kay Klapp O'Connor (Robert), Ralph Max Klapp, Delores Loree Alexander (Larry) and Tonya Jean Klapp Ogg (Duane); 38 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; two children, Earlene and David; a niece, Dolly; a daughter-in-law, Helga; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and 11 brothers and sisters.

We thank God for the blessing of life, love, hope and peace she brought to all of us.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at Celebrations First Assembly of God, Waterloo.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Hinchcliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home, Glaesburg, Ill. Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
