GILBERTVILLE - Thomas Frank Delagardelle, 57, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Gilbertville, died in Omaha of natural causes [Monday, August 15, 2005].

He was born May 7, 1948, in Waterloo, son of Gerald C. and Rosemary Metcalf Delagardelle. He was employed as a crane operator for several construction companies. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970 and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion of Gilbertville and Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include his parents of Gilbertville; three brothers, Glenn (Mary) of La Porte City, Jerry (Kayse) of Sumner and George (Jody) of Muncie, Ind.; a brother-in-law, Dan Tisue of Waterloo; five sisters, Peggy (Pat) Weber of Elk Run Heights, Nancy (Joe) Meany of Dysart, Pat Wahl of Gilbertville, and Mary (Dan) McMahon and Chris Boleyn, both of Raymond; two stepsons, Richard and Michael Craggs and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Susan Tisue; maternal grandparents, Frank and Ida Metcalf; and paternal grandparents, Joe and Margaret Delagardelle.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Marys Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Full military rites will be conducted by Nugent Demuth American Legion Post 714 of Gilbertville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, with a 4 p.m. Catholic Order of Foresters rosary and a 7 p.m. parish rosary.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Don Bosco System.
