Funeral services for Mrs. Malinda Abben, 70, of 136 South Jefferson St., Hudson will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Hudson. The Rev. Marvin Robeck. pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Abben died Tuesday evening at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of cancer.

Born July 12, 1903, daughter of Henry and Emma Nagle Degener in Hudson, she was married to Richard Abben on Dec. 16, 1925, in Waterloo. She was a charter member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Hudson.

Survivors include three sons, Lavern of Hudson, Donald of 727 Progress St., NS Cecil of 1123 Dundee St.; three daughters, Mrs. Darlene Pearce, Brainerd, Minn., Mrs. Shirley Schilling of Ionia, and Mrs. Karen Fleming of 2400 Ansborough Ave.; two brothers, Hulbert Degener of Rt. 2, Cedar Falls, and Paul Degener of Grants Pass, Ore.; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, on one brother and one grandson.

Friends may call at the Locke Funeral Home from noon Friday and at the church until service time. Friends who wish may contribute to the memorial fund of the church in her name.
