HUDSON — Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday in St. Timothy's Lutheran Church here for Richard Abben, 61, who died about 9 a.m. yesterday at his home here or a heart attack.

The Rev. Dr. George Hueter, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church cemetery, near Hudson. The body will be taken to the church from the Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Abben was born in Germany March 21, 1899, the son of Dirk and Gepke Abben. He came to this country when he was two years old. He married Malinda Degener on Dec. 16, 1925, in Waterloo.

Mr. Abten farmed southeast of Hudson for many years, reiring in 1955. He was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Hudson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: LaVern, Hudson, Donald, North Cedar, and Cecil, 129 S. Barclay; three daughters: Mrs Darlene Pearce, North Cedar, Mrs. Shirley Schelling, Ionia, and Karen Abben, at home; nine grandchildren, three brothers and six sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister and a grandson.
