WATERLOO - Bernard G. "Bernie" Moine, 63, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn., of complications from an aneurysm.

He was born Sept. 5, 1944, in Nashua, son of Albert and Evelyn Meyers Moine. He married Barbara E. Schluter on April 25, 1965, at First United Methodist Church, Nashua.

He graduated from Nashua High School and N.I.A.C.C. in Mason City, and received his BA in business administration from UNI. Following graduation, he worked for DX/Sun Oil Co. from 1967 to 1974.

Mr. Moine began his real estate career in 1976 with Wallace, Stokes and Reisinger. He then moved to Steve Cortright Realtors in 1980 and then Kevan Cortright Realtors in 1984. He made his final move to broker partnership with RE/MAX Home Group in 1998.

He earned several awards including Community Service Award, 1991; president Board of Realtors, 1993; Realtor of the Year, 1994; certified residential specialist and graduate real estate institute. In addition to serving on numerous board committees, he also consistently earned the 100% Club as well as the Hall of Fame Award.

Moine was an active member of the Noon Exchange Club of Waterloo for 26 years, serving as board member for at least five years and as president from 2000-2001. He chaired the Salvation Army raffle and basketball awards committee. He was also a member of the Waterloo Elks since 1975 and the UNI Scholarship Club since 1981.

Survived by his wife; a son, Mark (Amy) of Nashua; a daughter, Michelle (Larry) Prohaska of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Holly Ann and Brooke Prohaska and Drew Moine; his mother, Evelyn Moine of Waverly; a brother, Larry (Winnette) of Nashua; and a sister, Sandra (LeRoy) Cerwinske of Nashua.

Preceded in death by his father; a grandson, Joseph Matthew Moine; and a brother, Roland.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials to be determined at a later date.

Bernie will be missed by all of those lives he has touched with his smiles and eagerness to live life to the fullest!
