WILKIE, WISE, FUNSTON

George Wilkie, 86, died yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. G Wise, a niece, 21 Fremont Street. He was a victim of paralysis. The remains will repose at O'Keefe & Towne's until taken to Cherokee tomorrow, where funeral services will be conducted from First Presbyterian church.

Mr. Wilkie was born in Dundee, Scotland. Aug. 28, 1828, and came to America in 1841, later returning to Scotland. He returned to America in 1849 and settled in Cook County, Ill., for a year. After a residence at Farley, Ia., he took up his abode at Cherokee, where he remained until coming to Waterloo in 1909 to reside with Mrs. Wise. He was never married.

Deceased is survived by a sister, Mrs. Anna Funston, of Waterloo, and two nieces, Mrs. W. G. Wise and Miss Clara Funston of Des Moines, principal in the Cassidy school. A brother, John Wilkie, resides in Cherokee. Two nephews survive, Dr. G. E. Funston, Waterloo, and Frank Funston, Dennison, Tex.
