WATERLOO - Colleen J. Claypool, 78, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008.

She was born April 2, 1930, in Fremont Township, daughter of Harry and Gertrude Gunsalus Schmidt. She married Lloyd L. Claypool on June 29, 1952, at First Congregational Church, Tripoli. He died Feb. 20, 1993.

Mrs. Claypool was employed in the office of Rath Packing Co. for 37 years.

Survived by a daughter, Margo (Rich Schwartz) Turner of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Michelle Turner of Waterloo; four sisters, Zatha Skeries of Manchester, Naomi Stumme and Betty Hills, both of Tripoli, and Helen Walker of Johnston; a special friend, Delbert Blom of Grundy Center; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Dale, Robert and Richard Schmidt; and a stepson, Dennis Claypool.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo, with burial at 1 p.m. in Fremont Cemetery, Tripoli. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
