WATERLOO - William R. Mott, 77, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 26, 1931, in Toledo, son of Frank and June Bremner Mott. He married Sharon Kay Davis on April 18, 1964, in Wahoo, Neb.

Mr. Mott was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was employed with Jackson Construction in Nevada and later with Cedar Valley Corporation, retiring in December 1995 after 35 years. Following his retirement, he drove truck for PCI in Reinbeck for several years.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Mike (Shellie) and David, both of Waterloo; two daughters, Stacy (Todd) Wiedner and Tracy Mott, both of Waterloo; a very special granddaughter, Stacia Marie; a stepgranddaughter, Daphne; two sisters, Beverly (Ted) Schultz and Betty Davenport, both of Marshalltown; a sister-in-law, Wilma Mott of Newton; special friends, Doug and Jackie King of Waterloo; and nieces, nephews and many good friends.

Preceded in death by his mother and father; and a brother, Bob.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale Amvets Post 31 and Waterloo Amvets Post 19. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Bill's family and friends were very important to him. He loved fishing, auctions and playing cards.
