WATERLOO - Ann V. Murray, 90, of Waterloo, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Nov. 14, 1917, in Fredericksburg, daughter of John and Rosa Mikes. She married Harold A. Murray on Nov. 24, 1947, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Murray attended Waterloo School of Beauty and owned and operated the Courtsey Beauty Parlor, Fredericksburg, for several years. In Waterloo she worked at Black's Department Store and later with K-Mart on University Avenue until her retirement.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Mary (Tom Daniels) Murray of Waterloo; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Melugin of Fredericksburg.

Preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, John, Edwin, Victor and James Mikes; and two sisters, Rosa Mullens and Isabelle Turbett.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
