CEDAR FALLS - Verna Oster Weatherly, 94, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Dike, died Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the Lutheran Home.

She was born April 4, 1911, in Grundy County, daughter of Harry and Lura B. Chase Larsen. She married Alfred B. Oster on Oct. 16, 1930, in Tama. He died April 1, 1962. She then married Clifton H. Weatherly on Nov. 12, 1966, in Cedar Falls. He died July 3, 1989.

Mrs. Weatherly had been employed by both Mays Drug in Cedar Falls and Dairy Queen in Waterloo, retiring in 1966.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Jensen of Penguin, Tasmania, Australia, and Phyllis Oster of Lynnwood, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Sue DeBower of Cedar Falls and Helen Kielty of Waterloo; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Jack; and a granddaughter.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lutheran Home chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call for an hour before services Saturday at the Lutheran Home chapel. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Dike United Methodist Church or the Lutheran Home.
