CEDAR FALLS - Paul E. Brooks, 92, of Hudson, Wis., formerly of Albert Lea, Minn., Cedar Falls, and Waterloo, died Friday, July 1, 2005.

He was born Sept. 13, 1912, in Des Moines, son of Samuel and Julia Gertrude Barron Brooks. He married Julia McCoy, and she preceded him in death. He later married Imogene Minish on July 29, 1946.

Mr. Brooks served as a medic in World War II in Normandy, northern France, Rhineland and central Europe. Upon his return to the United States he went back to work at Rath Packing Co., Waterloo. He remained at Rath Packing Co. until 1966 when he moved to Albert Lea, where he worked for Wilson Packing Co. In 1972 he was transferred to Huntington, W. Va., retiring in 1975.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol (Robert) Benish of Hudson, Wis., and Janine (Learl) McDonald of Sterling, Ill.; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Burns of Iowa.

Preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude.

Services: Thursday at Christian Community Home atrium, Hudson, Wis. There will be a private family burial with full military honors. Arrangements by OConnell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
